The US Supreme Court refused to consider if three Republican lawmakers, who violated a Covid-era mask mandate, can sue the House speaker and congressional officials for docking their pay.
The court on Tuesday said it won’t hear a claim by Republican Reps. Thomas Massie of Kentucky, Marjorie Taylor Green of Georgia, and Ralph Norman of South Carolina that the $500 fines violated the 27th Amendment, which says congressional salaries can’t be reduced by law until there’s an intervening election.
